How a match is won

The last cell alive wins. If every remaining cell goes out at the same moment, the match is a draw and nobody wins.

What puts you out

• Touching a trail, either another cell's or your own. The short stretch of your own trail right behind your head is safe, so it cannot catch you while you swim straight.
• Crossing the red edge of the arena.

A trail stays deadly for up to 5.5 seconds. In paid rooms that drops to 3 seconds as the arena closes.

The shrinking arena

The arena closes toward its centre.

• In paid rooms the edge is a rectangle. It starts closing 10 seconds after the start and takes 100 seconds to reach its smallest size, 30% of the arena's width and height.
• In free practice the edge is a circle. It starts later in your first matches.

The match keeps going after the arena stops shrinking, until one cell is left.

Free practice

Practice costs nothing and needs no wallet or sign-up. You play against 3, 5 or 7 bots, depending on how many practice matches you have played. There is no prize.

Paid rooms

• Rooms hold up to 16 players. Everyone in a room pays the same entry fee: $1, $5, $25 or $100, paid in SOL, the currency of the Solana network.
• Paid rooms open once a day, from 20:00 to 21:00 UTC. The home page shows when the next window opens.
• The winner gets 85% of the entry fees players paid. The other 15% is the platform fee. Only 1st place is paid.
• A room that is not full can include bots. Bots pay nothing and add nothing to the prize. For example, a $5 room with all 16 seats paid has a prize of $68. With fewer paying players the prize is smaller.
• You need a Solana wallet app, such as Phantom, with enough SOL for the entry fee and the network fee.

Who can play for money

You must be 18 or older and allowed to play skill games with prizes where you live. The Terms list the excluded places.

Payouts and refunds

The prize is sent automatically on the Solana blockchain to the wallet you joined with. Your entry fee comes back, minus the Solana network fee (5000 lamports), in these cases:

• The room is cancelled before the match starts. If you are the only player, you wait up to 10 minutes for someone else to join, or until the window closes if that comes first.
• The match ends in a draw.
• Our server stops during a paid match. Everyone in that match is refunded when it restarts.

If you lose your connection

You have 10 seconds to reconnect or reload the page and rejoin the same match. After that you count as out, the same as being eliminated.

Fair play

Automation, exploits and collusion between players are not allowed. The Terms have the details. For a problem with a match or a payout, email support@spermrace.io.
